Canned Apple Pie Filling
We went on a little weekend trip recently and the place we were staying at had nice big apple trees out back. Even though we have a few already at home, I couldn't help but pick a cooler full for our trip home. They are huge and gorgeous, so I decided I would can a bunch.
After hymning and hawing over what I wanted to do, I started thinking about doing apple pie filling but my canning cookbook with over 400 recipes, only had 2 and they just had too many ingredients and I wanted something a bit more simple. Then I stumbled upon a recipe on Pintrest and it seemed perfect!
I have not canned many time before but I am working on canning more, so this was a good starting point.

My new raspberry plants.
We are now of year 3 of having a garden here. I have been wanting raspberries ever since we moved in. My hubby loves raspberry jam, it is favorite and barley eats any other kind. I haven't been able to source any out and I have been to cheap to buy them from a store, since they do pretty much grow like weeds here.
Then we finally got a call! A friend called us saying he was working on a lot which was being over run my raspberries and we could come take what we want. So we met him there that day and started digging. We managed to get 17 shoots that day. I was so excited I stayed up late doing a bit of research on them. After a bit of research I had my plan. The next afternoon I got digging.
